The Colorado Health Foundation Transitional Year Program
Policy for Resident Promotion

The performance of transitional year interns is formally reviewed by the Transitional Year Coordinating Committee at their final meeting of the academic year. Those who have satisfactorily completed (or are about to complete) the 12-month internship will receive a Transitional Medicine Certificate of Completion and all of the privileges commensurate with satisfactory completion of same.

Promotion of interns who were placed on probation, had disciplinary actions taken, or who took an extended leave of absence will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The Transitional Year Program Director will contact the intern's future Program Director/Program (either verbally or in writing) in advance of their promotion to discuss the issues with them in anticipation of their continued training.
